The schools are out and now parents are looking for things for their families to do over the long summer break. How about coming on one or more of our family bike rides? And if you don’t own a bike we can lend you one – for free!
Groundwork Cheshire’s Out & About project, along with Cycling Projects are putting on the rides as part of the Target: Wellbeing initiative. The aim is to increase cycling, walking and park use to help people feel healthier and happier in their daily lives.
There will be four rides in total:
10.00am-Midday
Thursday 5th August
Stanney Woods
10.00am-Midday
Thursday 12th August
Ellesmere Port Loop
10.00am-Midday
Thursday 19th August
Canal ride (with BMX coaching along the way)
10.00am-Midday
Thursday 26th August
Ellesmere Port to Chester and back
After each ride lunch will be provided. Every ride will start at Whitby Park by the Hall.
James Kerr at Groundwork Cheshire said, “Cycling is a good activity for keeping fit and aids coordination, balance and increases confidence. These rides will be great fun. You don’t need to own a bike but you do need to be able to ride one. We will be mostly cycling on off-road cycle routes. The rides get progressively longer each week so you’ll be able to challenge yourself.”
Anyone above the age of 9 can come along, although children must be accompanied by an adult.
Place are limited so please contact James Kerr to book your place, 01606 723160 or by e-mail at james.kerr@groundwork.org.uk
